101 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. May the peace of God be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray for the grace to follow Christ more closely. (pause ) God of wisdom and love, send your Spirit to teach us your truth and guide our actions in your way of peace. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Galatians 5:22-25 God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. And because we belong to Christ Jesus, we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. God's Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE Gathered this day in the love of God, let us pray for the needs of the world. For happiness and peace in the world: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For loving, gentle hearts: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For patience when things seem difficult: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For those who need some kindness today: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. DISMISSAL May the joy of the Spirit fill our lives. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer.
