105 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray for the coming of God’s kingdom. (pause) God our creator, you lead us in your ways and bless us with your gifts. Help us to bring peace and joy to others as we work to build your kingdom on earth. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke 17:20-21 Some Pharisees asked Jesus when God’s kingdom would come. Jesus answered, “God’s kingdom is not something you can see. There is no use saying, ‘Look! Here it is’ or ‘Look! There it is’. God’s kingdom is here with you.” The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. RESPONSE Gathered this day in the love of God, let us pray for the needs of the world. For the energy to build God’s kingdom on earth: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the freedom of those unjustly imprisoned: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the feeding of those who are hungry: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For peace and harmony between nations: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. DISMISSAL May God’s wisdom guide us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
