111 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. May the grace and peace of God be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray that we will use wisely the gifts God has given us. (pause ) O God, you are the word of life. Give us the right words to say to take your kindness to all we meet. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the first letter of St Peter 4:10-11 Brothers and sisters: Use your gifts well. If you have the gift of speaking, preach God’s message. If you have the gift of helping others, do it with the strength that God supplies. Everything should be done in a way that will bring honour to God because of Jesus Christ, who is glorious and powerful forever. Amen. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE Rejoicing in the presence of God, let us pray for the needs of the world. For those who teach in our schools: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For musicians and artists: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For builders and engineers: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For doctors and healthcare workers: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. DISMISSAL May God’s Holy Spirit fill us with joy. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
