117 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. May the love of God be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray that we will turn our hearts to God. (pause) God our Father, by your gifts to us on earth we already share in your life. In all we do, guide us to the light of your kingdom. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark 6:7-12 Jesus called together his twelve apostles and sent them out two by two with power over evil spirits. He told them, “You may take along a walking stick. But don’t carry food or a travelling bag or any money. It’s all right to wear sandals, but don’t take along a change of clothes. “When you are welcomed into a home, stay there until you leave that town. If any place won’t welcome you or listen to your message, leave and shake the dust from your feet as a warning to them.” The apostles left and started telling everyone to turn to God. The Gospel of the Lord . Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. RESPONSE In today’s reading, Jesus sent his disciples out to tell the people to turn their hearts to God. Let’s listen to a hymn called “Hosea (Come Back To Me)” sung by Sunday 7pm Choir from Canada. As you follow the lyrics on the screen, imagine God speaking these words to you. DISMISSAL May God the Father protect us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer.
