Praying Together 2021
12 W Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. May the grace and peace of God be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT St Scholastica, like her twin brother St Benedict, lived a holy life in a monastery. Let us pray that we will give ourselves to God in prayer, work and study. (pause) God, our life and our joy, may everything we do turn our minds and hearts to you. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah 12:4-5 When the Lord comes you will say, “Our Lord, we are thankful, and we worship only you. We will tell the nations how glorious you are and what you have done. We will sing your praises everywhere because of your wonderful deeds.” The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE Spend a few moments in silence, reflecting on the wonderful things that God has done for you. Join your voices in praise and sing this song calle d “Forever” by Chris Tomlin. You might also have another song of praise that you would like to sing. DISMISSAL May God’s Holy Spirit fill us with joy. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. Wednesday St Scholastica 10 February 2021 “We will sing your praises everywhere.”
