Praying Together 2021

201 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. May the grace and peace of God be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Saint Charles Borromeo was a wise and pastoral bishop who devoted his life to the reform and renewal of the Church. Let us pray that today’s Church will again be renewed. (pause) Lord and giver of life, renew your Church today and make it a clearer witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 21:15-17 When Jesus and his disciples had finished eating, he asked, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than the others do?" Simon Peter answered, "Yes, Lord, you know I do!" "Then feed my lambs," Jesus said. Jesus asked a second time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter answered, "Yes, Lord, you know I love you!" "Then take care of my sheep," Jesus told him. Jesus asked a third time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus had asked him three times if he loved him. So he told Jesus, "Lord, you know everything. You know I love you." Jesus replied, "Feed my sheep." The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
