Praying Together 2021

25 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. COLLECT Autumn begins in March. A new cycle of the earth reveals the beauty of all creation. Let us pray that we will appreciate the environment in which we live. (pause ) God, our Creator, as we recognise the changes in the world around us we give you praise for the changes you bring about in our hearts. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Romans 5:10-11 Brothers and sisters: Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by his Son's life. And in addition to everything else, we are happy because God sent our Lord Jesus Christ to make peace with us. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE Gathered before God our Father and Creator, let us pray for those who work in the world. For people who manage wealth fairly: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For scientists who explore the cosmos: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For farmers who grow food for us: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For workers struggling to earn enough money: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer.
