26 Week Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. COLLECT We ask the God of mercy to be our help and guide. (pause) Father of everlasting goodness, forgive our sins and restore us to life. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the book of Lamentations 3:22-25 We would have been destroyed, if the Lord had not been kind. But his mercy never fails. The Lord can always be trusted to show mercy each morning. Deep in my heart I say, “The Lord is all I need. I can depend on him!” The Lord is good to everyone who trusts and worships him. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE The message of today’s reading is that we can depend on God for everything we need.
