Praying Together 2021

28 GAther Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray for peace and healing. (pause) Merciful God, help us to forgive those who have hurt us, just as you forgive us when we turn back to you. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew 5:23-24 Jesus said to his disciples: “If you are about to place your gift on the altar and remember that someone is angry with you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. Make peace with that person, then come back and offer your gift to God.” The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. RESPONSE Sometimes, when we are feeling sad or angry, we need to find peace within ourselves before we can make peace with others. Spend a few minutes doing a Mindful Breathing Meditation. Take this sense of calm into your day as you go about making peace with those around you. DISMISSAL May God bless us and protect us and bring us to eternal life. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. Thursday Week 2 Lent 4 March 2021 “Make peace with that person.”
