41 Week Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray that we may be joyful in our service of God and one another. (pause) O God, source of power and inspiration, grant us strength and joy in serving you. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the book of Deuteronomy 10:12-14 Moses told the people: “People of Israel, what does the Lord your God want from you? The Lord wants you to worship and obey him and to love and serve him with all your heart and soul. For your own good you must obey his laws and commands that I am teaching you today. Everything belongs to the Lord your God. The highest heavens are his, and so is the earth and everything on it.” The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE In today’s reading, Moses asked the people, “What does the Lord your God want from you?” Spend a minute or two in silence to think about how you would answer this question. What does God want from you today? How might you love and serve God in the people you meet today? DISMISSAL May God bless us and protect us and bring us to eternal life. Amen.
