Praying Together 2021
44 Week Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. COLLECT As Lent draws to a close, let us pray fervently that Easter will be a celebration of renewal in Christ. (pause) Faithful God, guide us in your gentle mercy and help us to please you in our daily lives. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark 11:7-10 The disciples led the donkey to Jesus. They put some of their clothes on its back, and Jesus got on. Many people spread clothes on the road, while others went to cut branches from the fields. In front of Jesus and behind him, people went along shouting, “Hosanna! God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord! God bless the coming kingdom of our ancestor David. Hosanna for God in heaven above!” The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. RESPONSE Rejoicing in the presence of God, let us pray for the needs of the world. For those who serve and lead the Church: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the strength to live out the gospel: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For unity among all Christians: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For hearts filled with joyful praise: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. DISMISSAL May God bless us and protect us and bring us to eternal life. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. “God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” Friday Week 5 Lent 26 March 2021
