Praying Together 2021

46 Week Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. COLLECT In the coming days, the final days of Lent, we immerse ourselves in the Easter story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Let us pray that it will change us and bring us the new life of Christ. (pause) By the holy Cross of Christ, save us and raise us up, O God, forgive our sins and lead us to eternal life. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 10:39-43 Jesus was put to death on a cross. But three days later, God raised him to life and let him be seen. Not everyone saw him. He was seen only by us, who ate and drank with him after he was raised from death. We were the ones God chose to tell others about him. God told us to announce clearly to the people that Jesus is the one he has chosen to judge the living and the dead. Every one of the prophets has said that all who have faith in Jesus will have their sins forgiven in his name. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE One of the criminals who was crucified beside Jesus turned to him and said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Listen to a hymn from the Taize Community in France, “Jesus, Remember Me” which repeats these words over and over as a form of prayer and meditation. You may like to sing along quietly. DISMISSAL May God bless us and protect us and bring us to eternal life. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. “All who have faith in Jesus will have their sins forgiven in his name.” Tuesday of Holy Week 30 March 2021
