Praying Together 2021

51 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. Alleluia! And with your spirit. Alleluia! COLLECT Let us pray that God will grant us the joy of lasting peace. (pause ) Faithful God, may all who have received new life in baptism share your message of love and peace in the world. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the second letter of St Paul to the Corinthians 5:17-19 Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others. What we mean is that God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE Before we begin another busy day, let’s take a few moments of quiet to reflect on the peace that Jesus gives to us. Breathe deeply and try to still your mind as you listen to this quiet music. Let the peace of Jesus fill your mind and heart. DISMISSAL May the peace of Christ dwell in our hearts. Alleluia! Alleluia! May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. Thursday Octave of Easter 8 April 2021 “He has given us the work of sharing his message about peace.”
