Praying Together 2021
55 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. Alleluia! And with your spirit. Alleluia! COLLECT Let us pray that we will turn confidently to God when we need help. (pause ) God of love and protection, give us courage to trust in you and hear us when we call to you in prayer. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the book of Revelation 21:1-4 I heard a loud voice shout from the throne: "God's home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people. He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever." The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE Let’s close our eyes and be still, conscious of God’s presence among us. Today’s reading tells us that God will one day wipe away our tears, that there will be no more crying, or sadness or pain. Turn your mind to those who may be sad, or in pain today. You might think of a particular person in your life…. you may think of people who are sick in hospital… those who are lonely… those who have lost a loved one. Hold these people in your prayers for one minute of silence and ask God to bless them today. DISMISSAL May the love of God guide our minds. Alleluia! Alleluia! May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. “He will wipe all tears from their eyes.” Wednesday Week 2 Easter 14 April 2021
