59 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. Alleluia! And with your spirit. Alleluia! COLLECT Let us pray that we may come to know the depth of God’s love for us. (pause ) God, our Father, you fill us with love and kindness. Help us to love and serve others as we go about our day. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 17:1, 25-26 After Jesus had finished speaking to his disciples, he looked up toward heaven and prayed: "Good Father, the people of this world don't know you. But I know you, and my followers know that you sent me. I told them what you are like, and I will tell them even more. Then the love that you have for me will become part of them, and I will be one with them." The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. RESPONSE Because God lovingly cares for all creation, we put the needs of the world into his hands. For people who do not know God: ( pause ) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For those who seek love and belonging: ( pause ) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For eyes to recognise Jesus in those we meet: ( pause ) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For generous hearts to help others: ( pause ) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. DISMISSAL May the joy of the Spirit fill our lives. Alleluia! Alleluia! May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
