79 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. Alleluia! And with your spirit. Alleluia! COLLECT Let us pray that God’s Spirit will renew us. (pause) Lord, increase our eagerness to do your will and show us the saving power of your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke 17:11-19 On his way to Jerusalem, Jesus went along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men with leprosy came toward him. They stood at a distance and shouted, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" Jesus looked at them and said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." On their way they were healed. When one of them discovered that he was healed, he came back, shouting praises to God. He bowed down at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was from the country of Samaria. Jesus asked, "Weren't ten men healed? Where are the other nine? Why was this foreigner the only one who came back to thank God?" Then Jesus told the man, "You may get up and go. Your faith has made you well." The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. RESPONSE We learn from a very young age to say thank you to people when they do something for us. Do we remember to say ‘thank you’ to God for the wonderful things God does for us? What would you like to thank God for today? Maybe you’d like to thank God for your parents, for sunshine, for friends. Listen to som e quiet music and try to calm your breathing. Repeat the words ‘Thank you God’ as you fill your mind with all of the blessings in your life. DISMISSAL May the love of God guide our minds. Alleluia! Alleluia! May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. “He bowed down at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.” Tuesday Week 7 Easter 18 May 2021
