80 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The Lord be with you. Alleluia! And with your spirit. Alleluia! COLLECT Let us pray that God will guide us. (pause) God of wisdom and love, by the power of the Holy Spirit teach us your way and guide us to follow it. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 15:26-16:1 Jesus said to his disciples: “I will send you the Spirit who comes from the Father and shows what is true. The Spirit will help you and will tell you about me. Then you will also tell others about me, because you have been with me from the beginning. I am telling you this to keep you from being afraid.” The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. RESPONSE Confident that our God is near, we remember God’s care for the needs of the world. For courage when we are afraid: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For humility to ask others for help: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For wisdom to know the right thing to say: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For quiet hearts to hear the voice of the Spirit: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. DISMISSAL May the love of God guide our minds. Alleluia! Alleluia!
