Praying Together 2021

84 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The love of God be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray that we will do what God asks of us. (pause) God of peace, help us to know your will and to do it with faith and joy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Philippians 1:2-6 I pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless you with peace! Every time I think of you, I thank my God. And whenever I mention you in my prayers, it makes me happy. This is because you have taken part with me in spreading the good news from the first day you heard about it. God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won’t stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE God has something important planned for each one of us. St Paul tells us that God has begun a good work in you. As you spend a few moments listening to some quiet music, think about how you can do God’s good work in the world. What do you think God might have planned for you? DISMISSAL May God’s wisdom guide us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer. Extinguish the candle. “God is the one who began this good work in you.” Tuesday Week 8 Ordinary Time 25 May 2021
