85 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. The love of God be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray that God will live in hearts that are true. (pause) O God, shape us by your love and grace that our hearts will receive you in joy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Ephesians 3:16-17, 20-21 Brothers and sisters: I pray that God’s Spirit will make you become strong followers and that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. Stand firm and be deeply rooted in his love. I pray that Christ Jesus and the church will forever bring praise to God. His power at work in us can do far more than we dare ask or imagine. Amen. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE In the light of this new day, let us pray that God will make of our world a new creation. For leaders in the Church serving your people: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For wisdom to know what God asks of us: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For hearts filled with faith and joy: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For courage to stand up for what we believe in: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. DISMISSAL May God’s tender hand support us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Ring the bell or chime to signal the end of the prayer.
