90 Gather Light a candle as a sign of God’s presence and sit quietly. Ring a bell or chime to start the prayer. May the God of peace and grace be with you! And with your spirit. COLLECT Let us pray that we will show our love for each other through our actions. (pause ) Merciful God, tenderly guide us as we strive to help those who are in need. May your love within us be seen in what we do. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURE A reading from the first letter of St John 3:11, 18 From the beginning you were told that we must love each other. Children, you show love for others by truly helping them, and not merely by talking about it. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE In the light of this new day, let us pray that God will make of our world a new creation. For gentle hearts that see the needs of others: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For patience when we feel annoyed: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the humility to admit when we are wrong: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For forgiveness and harmony in our world: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer.
