United in God’s love, let us pray. (pause) O God, we see your power in your mercy. Forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. LET’S PRAY THURSDAY Week 3 Ordinary Time 30 January 2025 The men who were travelling with me saw the light, but did not hear the voice. I asked, 'Lord, what do you want me to do?' Then he told me, 'Get up and go to Damascus. When you get there, you will be told what to do.' The light had been so bright that I couldn't see. And the other men had to lead me by the hand to Damascus. LET’S LISTEN A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (22:6-11) One day about noon I was getting close to Damascus, when a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around. I fell to the ground and heard a voice asking me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you so cruel to me?' 'Who are you?' I answered. The Lord replied, 'I am Jesus from Nazareth! I am the one you are so cruel to.' LET’S RESPOND As a young man, Paul (or Saul as he was known then) tried to have the followers of Jesus arrested. But after Jesus spoke to him one day, Paul changed! He spent the rest of his life telling people about Jesus and helping them know God. Watch this video to learn more about the story of Saint Paul. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. May God’s face shine upon us and be gracious to us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. LET’S PRAY 4
